LoansHelper · Special Event
For Financial Literacy Month: 100 households, four numbers each, and one plain-language page showing exactly where the mortgage payment goes.
Most households sign it and never re-check the math. This event re-checks it — one household at a time, in plain language, with public calculators and public formulas.
Each household receives a one-page PDF: what your monthly payment is made of, your total interest over the remaining term, when prepayment actually pays off, and how alternative scenarios compare — annotated in everyday words, no jargon left unexplained.
We collect only the numbers the calculation needs — never names, addresses, ID, or account information. Submission data is used only for your calculation and deleted within 30 days after the event ends. Any case used in reporting requires the household’s separate consent and is anonymized.
This is financial education and a calculation demonstration. It is not mortgage brokering, credit counseling, or personalized financial advice. Results are based on the numbers you provide and public formulas; your actual loan terms are governed by your lender. LoansHelper does not arrange loans, charges no fees, and sells nothing to participants. Market rates quoted during the event are cited with source and date (Freddie Mac PMMS weekly data). We do not predict where rates are going.
Launching April 1, 2027
Registration is not open yet. Leave your name and email address and we will send you one email when it opens — nothing else, and no newsletter.
At mid-month and at completion we publish the aggregate story of 100 households: the rate spread, the average interest still on the table — the kitchen-table side of the mortgage market, which is rarely the side quoted.
